The Moonta Tourist Office is located in the former Moonta Railway Station. Built in 1909 and set in spacious grounds, this beautiful old building is one of several built throughout the state of the same design, including the Wallaroo Railway Station. Open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm, you can access the latest information on attractions, accommodation, community services and special events in Moonta and the surrounding areas. Moonta's World War One German light Field Howitzer gun is also on display in the grounds of the Old Railway Station. Located within the station is a huge range of very affordable giftware and souvenirs. You will find this a wonderful place to purchase reminders of Moonta, or to buy gifts for birthdays, Christmas or any occasion. There is something for every taste and all budgets. Ample car, coach and caravan parking is available and public toilets (including disabled toilets) are on site. Bookings and enquiries can be taken for individual and group tours for the Moonta Mines Museum, the Moonta Mines Tourist Railway, the Miners Cottage and Garden and for cemetery tours.
