Byramine Homestead And Brewery is a historical homestead built in 1842 by the famous explorer Hamilton Hume. Classified by the National Trust 'to be preserved at all costs', because of its unique design and its local significance. With octagonal rooms, created for the climate and also for security, as they were often under attack from Bushrangers. Originally the homestead was on the Yarrawonga Run. Today the Byramine Homestead is nestled amongst one of the largest vegetable farms in Australia. Guests are able to tour the homestead and wander the beautiful garden, home to the oldest Elm trees in Victoria. Devonshire teas and light lunches are available. A brewery and winery has opened within the grounds of the homestead. Guests are welcome to sample the beer, wine and ciders on offer. Seasonal vegetables are also for sale, produce of the local farm Kelly Bros.
