Holy Trinity Church in York is one of the oldest Anglican churches in Western Australia. The historic church was built using handmade bricks in the 1850s and sits amidst picturesque grounds overlooking the Avon River.
The Victorian Romanesque style architecture and red brick harmonise with the scenic countryside of York and contributes to the aesthetically pleasing streetscape.
Walk through the church and admire the beautiful stained glass windows, designed by West Australian artist Robert Juniper. At the east end of the church you will also find what is believed to be the last Albert Pease pipe organ in use in Australia. This organ was originally installed in 1898 and there are only 4 of these organs left in the world.
Attend the church service on Sunday at 9.30 am and listen to the mystic sound of the organ’s eight bells resonating throughout the church.
Open to view Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday - ring 0408 940 859 for appointment to view at other times.
