The Gab Titui Cultural Centre is located on Thursday Island in the Torres Strait Islands just off the Cape York Peninsula, the most northern point of Australia. Thursday Island is the most developed of the 74 Torres Strait Islands. The Centre has been created through a partnership between the Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) and the Queensland Heritage Trails Network (QHTN). The Centre boasts several unique displays that explain the history and culture of the Torres Strait Islanders. This includes an artefacts gallery, workshop areas for local artists and a meeting venue for local educational groups and community events.
