Avoca is a pioneer cottage built in 1884 set in large gardens. It is the perfect mountain base for holidays and weekends away in all seasons.
The great old bush house has been loved for over 100 years: firstly by the family that selected the land and built it (see brief history below) and since by the generations of families who have followed on to enjoy it as a weekender and mountain holiday retreat.
Avoca has been restored to show many original features and is now available for weekend breaks and mountain holidays. The house continues to be particularly family friendly. Its four bedrooms accommodate large or extended families with up to seven adults and additional beds/cot for kids.
A special feature is full gas central heating to keep the house warm throughout — and it can get cold in the mountains. But there’s also an open fireplace to set the mood when the high-country mists roll in.
